SpIDer Guard

SpIDer Guard constantly scans file system in real-time, checks all files in device memory as they are modified or saved, thereby protecting system against security threats.

SpIDer Guard settings are available in the SpIDer Guard section.

General

•Select/clear the Enable SpIDer Guard check box to enable/disable SpIDer Guard. When SpIDer Guard is enabled it protects file system of a device. It remains active even if you close the application.

•Select the Check archives check box to enable file scan of archives. By default, scanning of archives is disabled. Enabling the scanning may influence system performance and increase battery power consumption. SpIDer Guard scans all Android installation files (.apk) regardless of the value of this parameter.

•Select the Check SD cards check box to enable file scan of SD cards on each mounting.

Actions

Select this tab to set up actions that will apply to detected threats automatically. Depending on the threat type, the following options might be available:

•Report. This action displays the notification and skips the object without performing any actions.

•Move to quarantine. This action moves a detected threat to a special folder that is isolated from the rest of the system.

•Cure, move to quarantine if not cured. Instructs to restore the original state of the object before infection. If the object is incurable, or the attempt of curing fails, this object is moved to quarantine. The action is available only for the objects with a known threat that can be cured except for the Trojan programs and malicious files within complex objects.

•Delete. It is the most effective way to remove all types of threats. This action implies full deletion of a dangerous object.

•Cure, delete if not cured. Instructs to restore the original state of the object before infection. If the object is incurable, or the attempt of curing fails, this object is deleted. The action is available only for objects with a known threat that can be cured except for the Trojan programs and malicious files within complex objects.

•Ignore. No actions are applied to the object. Notifications are not displayed.
