Automatic Location of Stations under Android OS |
Dr.Web Enterprise Security Suite can automatically provide administrators with information about the geographical location of protected mobile devices running Android OS. Locating a mobile device 1.Configure transmission of location data from a mobile device to Dr.Web Server: a)In the Dr.Web Security Control Center, navigate to the section, select the required station or a group of stations running Android OS in the network tree. b)Select the item in the control menu. c)On the tab, set the flag. In the drop-down list, select a value according to which the device location data will be updated. d)Save the changes. 2.Automatic location tracking is performed in one of the following ways: •If location providers (GPS, cellular networks) are enabled on a user device and the signal is stable, the location is monitored using the mobile device itself. •If location providers (GPS, cellular networks) are disabled on a user device or there is no GPS signal, Dr.Web Enterprise Security Suite uses the Yandex.Locator technology to locate a mobile device. This technology is based on the coordinates of the cell phone towers (GSM, 3D, LTE) and WiFi ID. a)Get the API key from the Yandex website at https://yandex.ru/dev/locator/keys/. b)In the Dr.Web Security Control Center navigate to the section, set the flag. c)In the field, specify the key received in step a). d)Save the changes and restart Dr.Web Server.
3.To view the location of a station in the Dr.Web Security Control Center: a)In the section navigate in the network tree to the station for which the appropriate settings were specified in step 1. b)In the section of the station properties, the geographical coordinates received from a mobile device will be displayed automatically. c)Click to view the geographical location of a mobile device on OpenStreetMap according to the received coordinates.
