Connecting Dr.Web Agent to Another Dr.Web Server

Connecting a Dr.Web Agent to another Dr.Web Server may be necessary if agents are connected to Dr.Web Server whose address has changed or if Dr.Web Server was reinstalled without using the certificate of the previous server.

You can connect Dr.Web Agent to another Dr.Web Server in one of the following ways:

1.Via the Control Center.

Remote management without direct access to the station is possible if the station is still connected to the previous Dr.Web Server. You need the access to the Control Center both of the previous and the new servers.

2.Directly on the station.

To perform the actions directly on the station, you must have administrative privileges on the station and, if you want to edit configuration via the agent UI, permissions to edit the Dr.Web Agent properties, which are set on Dr.Web Server. If you do not have these permissions, you can reconnect to another Dr.Web Server locally on the station only after removing the installed Dr.Web Agent via Control Center and installing the new Dr.Web Agent with the new Dr.Web Server settings.

info

You can change some of connection settings from the command line as a station administrator:

Windows OS:
"%ProgramFiles%\DrWeb\es-service.exe" --esserver=<server_address> --addcert=<certificate_path>

UNIX OS:
drweb-ctl esdisconnect && drweb-ctl esconnect <server_address> --Certificate <certificate_path>

<server_address> - if the server address has changed.

<certificate_path> - if the server was reinstalled without using the certificate from the previous server.

The server certificate is available in the Control Center, under Administration > Encryption keys.

Reconnecting Dr.Web Agent to another Dr.Web Server via the Control Center

1.On the new Dr.Web Server, allow the stations with incorrect authorization parameters to request new authorization parameters as newbies. To do this, in the Control Center, select Administration from the main menu → Dr.Web Server configuration from the control menu → General tab:

a)Set the Reset unauthorized to newbie flag if it is cleared.

b)If the Always deny access option is selected in the Newbie registration drop-down list, change it to the Approve access manually or Allow access automatically.

c)To apply these settings, click Save and restart Dr.Web Server.

info

If your company policy does not allow you to change the settings from step 1, then you need to set the parameters of the station authorization directly on the station, in accordance with the account you created in advance in the Control Center.

2.Set the parameters of the new Dr.Web Server on the old Dr.Web Server to which Dr.Web Agent is connected. To do this, select the Anti-Virus Network item in the main menu of the Control Center → select the required station (or a group thereof to reconnect all the stations of this group) in the hierarchical list of the network → select the Connection settings item in the control menu:

a)If the new Dr.Web Server certificate is different from the previous Dr.Web Server certificate, set the path to the new Dr.Web Server certificate in the Certificate field.

b)Enter the new Dr.Web Server address in the Server field.

info

It is recommended that you use the name of Dr.Web Server in the FQDN format as the Dr.Web Server address.

c)Click Save.

Reconnecting Dr.Web Agent to another Dr.Web Server directly on the station

To do this, in the context menu of the Dr.Web Agent icon, select Security Center → click the lock icon-agent-lock-on (if it is not already unlocked) to get access to the advanced settings → click the icon-agent-settings button to access the settings → navigate to Server menu → Connection parameters → click the Change settings button:

a)If the new Dr.Web Server certificate is different from the previous Dr.Web Server certificate, set the path to the new Dr.Web Server certificate using the List of certificates button.

b)Set the appropriate parameters of the new Dr.Web Server using the Add button.

2.Make the station a newbie (reset the authorization parameters on Dr.Web Server). To do this, in the connection settings section from step 1, click the following buttons: Station connection parametersReset the parameters and connect as a newbieReset the parameters.

info

If you already know the ID and the password for connecting the new Dr.Web Server, you can enter them in the Station ID and the Password fields. In this case, it is not necessary to make the station a newbie.
