Set the Log to file flag to enable logging. By default, logging is enabled and the DRWEB32W.log log file is located in the %USERPROFILE%\DoctorWeb folder. You can configure the following logging parameters: ◆In the Log mode section, set the write mode of data to the log file: •Append – instructs the Scanner to append new log entries in the end of the log file; •Overwrite – instructs to clear log file at every Scanner launch. ◆Set the Maximum log file size flag to limit the log file size. Log file size will not exceed the size that is specified in the KB field. If the maximal size is reached, the log file is cleared and information is written from the beginning. ◆In the Encoding section, select the log file encoding: •ANSI – use the ANSI (Windows) encoding for log file; •OEM – use the OEM (DOS) encoding for log file. ◆The Details section allows to select the additional data to be logged. Provided that log to file is enabled, even if none of the flags is set, the program always makes records of the detection of infected or suspicious objects, including names of viruses or their modifications (suspicious objects are classified by suspicious codes by the heuristic analyzer), and the actions taken. To log the extra information, set the following flags: •Scanned objects - log name of all scanned objects, at this, uninfected objects will be marked with Ok (this mode may considerably increase the log file size). This flag is cleared by default. •Names of file packers - log messages about detected executable files packed with special packers, and the names of their packers. This flag is cleared by default. •Name of archives - log messages about archives scanned and their packers, as well as error reports (for example, if it failed to unpack as it was password protected). This flag is cleared by default. •Statistics - log the statistics on the program performance during the regular scanning and the whole Scanner session.
